Timeshare Legal Review
My experience trying to cancel my timeshare
So what did Timeshare Legal do for me that I couldn’t do myself?
Nothing! Timeshare Legal “Did NOT” cancel my timeshare!
Instead, they advised me to let my Timeshare go into default.
They put me in more debt and messed up my credit.
Warning! Don’t believe anything that Timeshare Legal tells you… Once you receive a Deed In Lieu of Foreclosure, They will cut off all communication with you.

The initial call
In my first conversation with Timeshare Legal, they made it sound like they would be filing suit against my timeshare and had to put me on hold because they only file a certain amount of suits each month. Then, when they got back on the phone, they told me that the lawyer could take our case. During that conversation, they also told me that there was a good chance that I could get a refund for a substantial portion, if not all of the fees that I’ve paid over the years. I really wanted to get out of my timeshare so, I agreed to the $3,000 fee.
Before the conversation was over, I was asked if I was current on my timeshare mortgage payments. I replied that I was current. Timeshare Legal then advised me to stop paying immediately.

The follow-up
Timeshare Legal will help you write a letter to the timeshare stating why you’re unhappy and why you want to cancel your timeshare. This was really the only service that they actually provided to me. However, it was of no use. It was just an exercise to make you think that they were setting the stage to file a case on your behalf against the timeshare….
Nothing could be farther from the truth!

The wait
Now that you’ve sent your letter of discontent to your timeshare company, you wait, thinking that Timeshare Legal is preparing your case.
Ha! That’s the trick! While you’re waiting, your mortgage payments are going delinquent, Month after Month… Finally, when you are 6 months behind, your timeshare company will start offering you settlement options. That’s when you tell them that you want a Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure.

The Reality
Here is the reality. There was never any intention file a suit against my timeshare. Timeshare Legal has done nothing for me that I couldn’t do for myself. After 6 months of non-payment, my mortgage went into default, and after being notified that my mortgage was going into foreclosure, I accepted a Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure. At this time, I was still getting notices for past-due maintenance fees. I tried to ask the lawyer assigned to my case from DC Capital Law if I needed to address these fees. However, after I received the Deed in Lieu, all of my questions went unanswered. All I got was an email stating that my case is complete, and any further questions and emails were ignored.
I then reached out to Timeshare Legal asking about how we proceed to request a refund. Days went by with multiple emails from me asking for a reply. The only response that I ever got after receiving my Deed in Lieu was to contact DC Capital Law as they are handling my case. So, now neither Timeshare Legal nor DC Capital Law will talk to me.
Wow, what a scam!
So what did Timeshare Legal do for me that I couldn’t do myself?
The answer is nothing!
Anyone can stop paying on a Timeshare and wait until the mortgage goes into default.
